Police in Montclair, California, are investigating two thefts of beer from an Anheuser-Busch distribution centre, which occurred on 17 August. In one incident, a thief reportedly used false documentation to take a shipment of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, valued at $25,000 (£18,500).
Pabst Brewing Company has appealed on social media for help locating the 40,000lbs (18,144kg) of beer and is offering a reward for its return. The company stated it is "deadly serious" about the incident.
Montclair Police said that an hour after the Pabst Blue Ribbon theft, another shipment worth $45,000 (£33,000) was picked up using fraudulent documents. Investigators have identified similarities between the two incidents and are examining whether they are part of the same fraudulent cargo-theft operation.
