Police Scotland have initiated a search for Cliff Lyons Dobbie, a child rapist who absconded while on escorted community leave in Perth city centre. Dobbie is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 3in (1.6m) tall, with a stocky, muscular build.
Dobbie has been held in secure units since 1990 following the rape of a 10-year-old girl in Glasgow. He was on bail for another sex offence at the time of that attack, having previously molested a 12-year-old boy.
NHS Tayside confirmed they are working with Police Scotland to locate the missing patient. The public is advised not to approach Dobbie. He was last seen wearing white trainers, light blue ripped jeans, a salmon-coloured golf shirt, a light blue jumper, a black cap, and thick black-rimmed glasses, carrying a black backpack and a black puffer jacket.
Dobbie has distinctive tattoos, including two blue tiger-like eyes on his right arm and a blue and red Rangers tattoo on his left arm. He is bald, has light blue eyes with a noticeable squint, and speaks with a strong Glaswegian accent, with links to Glasgow and the surrounding area.
