The summer transfer window has closed with Premier League clubs making substantial moves to bolster their squads. Reigning champions Arsenal, who have started the new season with two wins, had a quiet final day after concluding their main business earlier.
Manchester City, under new manager Enzo Maresca, underwent a significant rebuild, spending a Premier League record £458m in a single transfer window. This included a £125m fee to reunite Maresca with Enzo Fernandez, equalling the British transfer record. They also signed Elliot Anderson for £116m and Iliman Ndiaye for £65m, among others. City also generated approximately £300m from player sales.
Chelsea, now managed by Xabi Alonso, secured Morgan Rogers for £117m and Emiliano Martinez. Liverpool, following the departure of Mohamed Salah, signed Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for £123m. Manchester United focused on midfield renewals, bringing in Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos, and Carlos Baleba.
