Welsh Fire clinched a three-wicket victory against Manchester Super Giants at Old Trafford, with Ireland international Orla Prendergast delivering a standout performance, taking 4-18.
Playing in only her second Hundred match, Prendergast, an injury replacement for Sophie Devine, dismantled the Super Giants' top-order. She bowled captain Meg Lanning for a golden duck, had Mady Villiers caught for five, and trapped Kathryn Bryce lbw for four. Richa Ghosh also fell to Prendergast, caught in the covers for 11.
Despite Ryana MacDonald-Gay's unbeaten 18 for the Super Giants, they reached 85-9. In reply, Welsh Fire secured a nervy win, with Heather Graham hitting an unbeaten 16, including the winning runs, as they reached 88-7 with nine balls to spare.
This victory propels Welsh Fire above Leeds Sunrisers into fourth place, placing them two points behind the Super Giants, who remain in third.
