Paris Saint-Germain have lifted the UEFA Super Cup, overcoming Aston Villa 2-1 in a captivating match held in Salzburg. This victory marks another trophy for Luis Enrique's side, who are back-to-back Champions League winners.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG in the 20th minute. Aston Villa's 17-year-old Brian Madjo then made history, becoming the competition's youngest scorer by levelling the game with a left-footed volley just before half-time.

Désiré Doué secured the win for PSG just after the hour mark. His goal was initially disallowed but awarded after a VAR review confirmed Matty Cash played him onside.

Aston Villa, despite the loss, created several chances to equalise, with Warren Zaïre-Emery making a crucial block to deny João Gomes a debut goal.
