Rangers are theoretically only required to make 50 tickets available to Celtic for their upcoming Scottish League Cup quarter-final match at Ibrox. This allocation, comprising 10 tickets for the directors' box and 40 for the stand, is detailed in Annex 2, section 11.1, of The Scottish Professional Football League Cup Competition Regulations.
However, despite these regulations, it is considered highly likely that Celtic will receive an allocation similar to the approximately 2,500 away fans seen at Premiership Old Firm games in recent years. This figure represents roughly 5% of the respective grounds' capacity, a compromise reached after a period where both clubs declined entry to away fans.
The ticket arrangements for the match, scheduled for the weekend of 12 September, are still to be confirmed. Both Rangers and the SPFL have stated it is too soon to comment on the arrangements, with the draw having only recently been made.
The last cup meeting between the two clubs at Ibrox in March led to disorder and an independent inquiry, which criticised both clubs. Celtic supporters were given the entire Broomloan Stand for that Scottish Cup tie, an allocation that appears remote for future matches after the events of that day.
