Alan Ritchson, the lead actor in the Prime Video series 'Reacher', has claimed that plans to adapt his preferred Jack Reacher book, 'Die Trying', for the show's third season were altered following Donald Trump's re-election. Ritchson stated on social media that the adaptation of 'Die Trying' had been approved, but plans changed after "someone got re-elected."
The book 'Die Trying' involves the character Jack Reacher confronting a white supremacist militia camp. Ritchson had reportedly lobbied for this book to be the basis for season three before 'Persuader' was ultimately chosen. Prime Video has been contacted for comment regarding Ritchson's claim.
Separately, British author Lee Child, who created the Jack Reacher character, previously revealed he moved back to the UK from the US due to Trump's presidency. Child stated he left two days before Trump's inauguration as a "point of principle."
