Condé Nast Traveller has revealed the top hotels in the UK, as determined by its 2026 Readers' Choice Awards. Readers rated their favourite escapes based on a checklist of criteria, including service, food, location, design, activities, rooms, and community investment.
London hotels such as Broadwick Soho, 1 Hotel Mayfair, and The Ned were recognised for specific attributes. Broadwick Soho was noted for its off-Carnaby Street setting, 1 Hotel Mayfair for its biophilic design, and The Ned for its diverse restaurants.
Beyond London, Scotland, the Cotswolds, Cornwall, and the Lake District emerged as popular regions. The Torridon was highlighted for its remote mountainside location, The Gilpin for its ambitious food, and Lucknam Park for various reasons, including its horseback activities. Newcomers Louma and Saltmoore received special mention, as did Hotel Tresanton, a consistent award recipient since 1998, recognised for its Olga Polizzi-designed rooms.
In Ireland, Ballyfin secured first place after being narrowly beaten last year, with its local-accented service cited as a factor.
