Real Madrid are reportedly confident of securing a deal for Manchester City's 30-year-old Spain midfielder Rodri. The move for the player, who has one year left on his contract, could be finalised after a meeting on Thursday, with a potential fee of 40-50m euros (£34m-£43m).

In other transfer news, Aston Villa have seen a 30m euro (£26m) offer for 22-year-old Brazilian forward Allan rejected by Palmeiras. Meanwhile, Juventus have agreed a deal with Paris St-Germain to sign France striker Randal Kolo Muani on a loan with an obligation to buy, with the fee potentially reaching 50m euros (£43m) with add-ons.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan could rekindle their efforts to sign Liverpool's 25-year-old England midfielder Curtis Jones. Brentford are also close to signing 24-year-old Lens and Mali midfielder Mamadou Sangare as a replacement for Jordan Henderson.
