Reform UK has suspended Tim Montgomerie, one of its most prominent members, leading to a public dispute. Montgomerie, who had previously defected from the Conservative Party, was described as being loyal to Reform UK.
The suspension follows Montgomerie's reported dissatisfaction with Zia Yusuf, another Reform UK figure. Montgomerie reportedly expressed his disapproval of the way Yusuf appeared to enjoy announcing extreme immigration control measures.
The Guardian UK reported that Montgomerie believed Nigel Farage, the party leader, genuinely sought intelligent voices to challenge his ideas. However, the report suggests Farage cannot tolerate criticism.
