George Russell delivered a commanding performance at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, leading the race from start to finish. His victory at Baku has narrowed the championship gap to his Mercedes team-mate, Kimi Antonelli, by 15 points, bringing Antonelli's lead down to 66 points.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull pushed Russell closely for the win, ultimately finishing in second place, less than two tenths of a second behind. Red Bull's Isack Hadjar made a strong return to racing after a wrist injury, completing the podium in third position.
Antonelli, despite starting 16th on the grid after crashing out in Q1, recovered to finish fifth. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc secured fourth place, while Lewis Hamilton finished sixth.
