Saoirse Ronan Expresses Interest in Bond Villain Role Amid Husband's 007 Candidacy

Irish actor Saoirse Ronan has stated her desire to play a villain in the next James Bond film, as her husband, Jack Lowden, is reportedly a frontrunner for the 007 role.

  • Saoirse Ronan has expressed a serious interest in portraying the next James Bond villain.
  • Jack Lowden, Ronan's husband, is reportedly a frontrunner to become the next James Bond.
  • If cast, Ronan and Lowden would be the first married couple to act opposite each other in a Bond film.

Irish actor Saoirse Ronan has revealed her ambition to portray the next villain in the James Bond film series. Speaking to Empire magazine, Ronan stated, "I said that I wanted to be a Bond villain and I’m dead serious."

This comes as her husband, Jack Lowden, has emerged as a frontrunner to take over the role of James Bond from Daniel Craig. Earlier this month, Richard Osman reportedly said that sources indicated Lowden was being "strongly considered" for the role as the audition process neared its final stages.

Should both Ronan be cast as the villain and Lowden secure the 007 role, they would mark the first married couple to appear opposite one another in a James Bond film. The couple reportedly married in July 2024 and welcomed their first child the following year.

Other actors reportedly in contention for the Bond role include Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, and Harris Dickinson. Producer Amy Pascal indicated earlier this month that there might be news regarding the next Bond by the end of the year.
