Saracens are facing a series of fines from Prem Rugby because director of rugby Brendan Venter has not fulfilled his media commitments. The club is understood to have already been handed a £5,000 sanction after Venter missed the Prem's pre-season launch day.
The South African also did not engage with the media before, during, or after Saracens' opening-weekend victory at Leicester.
Reports from The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday claimed Venter "resigned" as director of rugby last month to take on a new role as "head of rugby culture and wine consultant," with head coach Joe Shaw reportedly assuming media responsibilities. However, neither Saracens nor Prem Rugby have confirmed these claims.
It is also thought that a change in job title would not exempt Venter from his contractual responsibilities. Saracens announced Venter's return as director of rugby in January and have not yet confirmed any changes to his daily duties.
