Scottie Scheffler has clinched the FedEx Cup for the second time in his career, triumphing at the Tour Championship by three shots over Viktor Hovland at East Lake. Scheffler's impressive closing round of 66 propelled him past Hovland, who had been the overnight leader.
Hovland, who began the day with a three-shot advantage, struggled on the greens, carding three bogeys in his round of 72. Scheffler, the world No. 1, managed a late scare on the 18th but recovered to make par, adding to his 2024 FedEx Cup victory.
Despite challenging conditions, with the golf course playing firmer and windier, Scheffler delivered a standout performance, recording the joint best round of the day alongside Xander Schauffele. Rory McIlroy, who had shown promise on Saturday, finished tied for fourth after a more difficult final day.
Justin Rose also made headlines with a superb hole-in-one on the par-three ninth, though it was part of a round that saw him drop five places to a share of 18th.
