Transfer Window Heats Up: Liverpool Eye Forwards, Spurs Linked with Pulisic

As the transfer window nears its close, several Premier League clubs are scrambling for new signings, with Liverpool seeking more wide forwards and Tottenham reportedly considering Christian Pulisic.

  • Liverpool, despite Bradley Barcola's arrival, are looking for additional wide forwards, with Cody Gakpo's future uncertain.
  • Tottenham have been linked with former Chelsea player Christian Pulisic as a potential attacking reinforcement.
  • Crystal Palace are targeting midfield additions, including Hugo Larsson and Quinten Timber, and a loan deal for Honest Ahanor.

With the transfer window's final days upon us, several top-flight clubs are in a desperate scramble to bolster their squads. Liverpool, after an underwhelming start to the season and with a somewhat thin frontline, are actively seeking more wide forwards. This comes despite Bradley Barcola reportedly being en route from PSG, with much depending on the future of Cody Gakpo, who is being pursued by Manchester City and Tottenham.

Andoni Iraola's side at Liverpool have been linked with Chelsea's Estêvão, as well as Yankuba Minteh and Ismaïla Sarr. Meanwhile, Tottenham, who were previously linked with Iliman Ndiaye, are now reportedly considering former Chelsea man Christian Pulisic as a possible alternative to strengthen Roberto De Zerbi's attacking options.

Crystal Palace are also in need of transfer boosts, with Pierre Sage identifying midfield as a key area. The Eagles are battling Fulham for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson and are also keen on Quinten Timber of Marseille. Additionally, 18-year-old centre-back Honest Ahanor looks set to join Palace on loan from Atalanta. The club is also trying to retain Dean Henderson amid interest from Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United could see players depart, with Fenerbahce reportedly preparing a move for Marcus Rashford, and Leny Yoro attracting interest from Milan. In terms of incomings at Old Trafford, a left-back remains a priority, with a surprise last-minute deal for Aston Villa’s Ian Maatsen potentially on the cards. If United lose Joshua Zirkzee or Rashford, Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth could be available for £30m.

In League One, Leicester, who have had a difficult start to the season, are targeting as many as seven deals before Tuesday’s transfer deadline. Sheffield United’s Mark McGuinness, Coventry’s Joel Latibeaudiere, and Wrexham midfield duo George Dobson and Matty James are all potential targets for Russell Martin.
