A 21-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted last weekend at an off-campus fraternity house near the University of Chicago. The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday at approximately 1:50 am at the Alpha Epsilon Pi residence, according to a university daily crime log.
The woman told police she was "not fully conscious" when found partially undressed in a bathroom with a man, who was also semi-nude. She also reported that a group initially blocked her friends from entering the bathroom.
University officials have identified a person of interest, who is not a student and has been banned from campus. Chicago police confirmed on Wednesday that no one is in custody and the investigation remains ongoing. A spokesperson for the fraternity stated there was no evidence its members participated in or were aware of the alleged assault.
