The Sinfield family is preparing for a unique reunion at the Super League Grand Final this Saturday at Old Trafford. Kevin Sinfield will conclude his seventh and final fundraising ultramarathon challenge, supporting those with motor neurone disease, by carrying the match ball into the stadium.
Waiting on the pitch will be his son, Jack Sinfield, who is set to make his Grand Final debut for Wakefield Trinity. Wakefield will be attempting to win their maiden Super League title against Warrington Wolves.
Jack, 22, expressed his pride in his father's fundraising efforts and noted the unexpected timing of their reunion. He said, "When he planned this last challenge and for it to finish at Old Trafford, I don’t think even he could have imagined that I would be playing in it."
Jack, who moved to Wakefield from Leeds last winter, has played a key role in taking the club to within one win of their first league title in almost 60 years. His father, Kevin, played in eight Grand Finals for Leeds Rhinos, with Jack attending all of them.
