Six people have been arrested in East Lothian after a man was abducted from the Canonmills area of Edinburgh on Thursday at about 22:30. Police Scotland received the report of the abduction.
The 22-year-old man was later found in Longniddry on Friday and was taken to hospital as a precaution. Longniddry is a coastal village about 15 miles (24km) from Canonmills.
Those arrested include five men, aged 21, 21, 22, 23 and 45, and a 40-year-old woman. Police have stated that inquiries are ongoing and believe the incident was targeted, posing no risk to the wider public.
A section of the A198, which runs through Longniddry, has been closed by police, with a diversion in place. Det Insp Robbie Wallace said officers will remain in the Longniddry area while the investigation continues.
