Six dead in Kenya helicopter crash at Mount Ololokwe

A helicopter crash in central Kenya has killed all six people on board, according to air accident officials.

A helicopter crash in central Kenya at Mount Ololokwe in Samburu county has resulted in the deaths of all six people on board, air accident officials have confirmed.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department stated that the identities of those involved are yet to be confirmed. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) reported the accident happened at approximately 09:13 local time (06:13 GMT).

The KCAA said the Eurocopter EC130 B4 was on a scenic flight from a wildlife conservancy in Losaiba to Ewaso Nyiro. The transport ministry and Air Accident Investigations Department are to lead investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The Kenya Red Cross has indicated that the area is not yet accessible, with drones being used to assess the scene.
