Stephen Graham has been cast in 'Heat 2', the anticipated sequel to Michael Mann's 1995 heist film. He joins a cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Driver, and Christian Bale.
The original 'Heat' featured Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, and Mann intends to adapt his 2022 sequel novel, which explores events both before and after the first film. While specific roles have not been confirmed, Graham is rumoured to play a younger version of Neil McCauley, a character originally portrayed by De Niro.
Christian Bale is reportedly set to play LAPD detective Vincent Hanna, the role played by Pacino, and Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to take on the character of Chris Shiherlis, previously played by Val Kilmer. Michael Mann stated in September last year that he looked forward to potentially shooting the film in 2026, noting that budgeting, scheduling, and casting were underway.
