Ben Stokes showcased a top all-round performance for Durham on day two of their County Championship match against Derbyshire. The former England captain scored 53 runs, including 11 fours, and then took a wicket with his first ball, finishing with figures of 2-14.
Durham, the Division Two leaders, were bowled out for 283, with half-centuries also coming from Alex Lees and Graham Clark. Ben Aitchison was a standout for Derbyshire, taking 5-70.
Derbyshire then collapsed to 127-6, trailing Durham by 156 runs with four first innings wickets remaining. Matthew Potts and Will Rhodes both claimed two wickets for Durham, who demonstrated their promotion ambitions.
