Strictly Come Dancing viewers frustrated by presenting trio in week two

Strictly Come Dancing fans have expressed frustration with the presenting format in week two, particularly regarding Josh Widdicombe's role.

  • Viewers felt Josh Widdicombe was a "spare part" during Movie Night.
  • Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe returned as hosts, with Johannes Radebe in the "Clauditorium."
  • Johannes Radebe was praised for his improved performance in week two.

Strictly Come Dancing fans have voiced their frustration with BBC bosses over the presenting format in week two of the show. New hosts Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe returned to the dance floor, while Johannes Radebe was in the area previously known as the “Clauditorium.”

Many viewers felt that Widdicombe was a “spare part” and would have been better utilised alongside Radebe to interview contestants. Some fans expressed surprise that producers had not listened to viewer feedback regarding Widdicombe's role.

The Independent's Isobel Lewis had previously described Widdicombe as “a problem the BBC has to solve” in a review of the opening episode, noting his tendency to talk over Willis and his “gag-at-all-costs attitude.”

Despite the criticism of the overall format, Johannes Radebe was praised for a noticeable improvement from week one, with one fan describing him as “Calmer. Less nervous. Giving guests room to breath and talk.”

Week two marked the first time all 15 Strictly couples performed in Movie Week, allowing all contestants to undertake a themed performance.
