Benjamin William Day, a 20-year-old forensic science student, has admitted to the murder of 24-year-old Maria Saceanu. Day changed his plea to guilty on the second day of his trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Prosecutors detailed that Day had carefully planned the killing, preparing a room at an Airbnb with plastic sheeting and other items. These were reportedly intended to assist him in the murder and the disposal of evidence.
Day, who was 19 when the murder occurred, has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to be sentenced on 4 December.
