  • Tristan Kerr, 17, died after being stabbed through the heart and lung with a 13.5cm knife.
  • Georgie Mears, Connor Palfrey, Ricardo Elliot, and Elexi Manny deny murder.
  • The alleged attack took place in February at a house in Lower Francis Street, Abertridwr.

A teenage boy bled to death in the street after allegedly being stabbed through the heart and lung with a 13.5cm (5.3in) 'zombie knife', Newport Crown Court heard on Tuesday. Tristan Kerr, 17, collapsed and died at the scene in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, in February.

Georgie Mears, 19, from Thornhill, Cardiff, is accused of attacking Mr Kerr at a house in Lower Francis Street. Mears, along with Connor Palfrey, 24, from Abertridwr, Ricardo Elliot, 27, of no fixed address, and Elexi Manny, 24, from Senghenydd, Caerphilly, all deny murder through joint enterprise.

Prosecutors stated the motive for the alleged attack was unclear. However, text messages between Palfrey and Elliot reportedly showed them discussing drug dealing and the collection of drug debts.

The court heard that Mears allegedly entered the house armed with a knife, described by witnesses as about 10 inches long, purple and silver. Michael Jones KC, prosecuting, said the fatal attack took less than two minutes. He alleged that Palfrey watched the attack while holding a wooden stick, warning others not to get involved, and Elliot remained in the hallway as a lookout.

The jury was told that Manny "undoubtedly" saw two of her passengers were pre-armed and acted as the getaway driver after the stabbing. The four were later arrested in Hereford. The trial continues.
