Susan Sarandon Pays Tribute to Rocky Horror Co-star Tim Curry

Susan Sarandon has paid tribute to her Rocky Horror Picture Show co-star Tim Curry, who died on Tuesday aged 80.

Susan Sarandon has paid tribute to Tim Curry, her co-star in the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Curry died on Tuesday, August 25, at the age of 80.

Sarandon, who played Janet in the movie, shared her tribute on Instagram, posting a picture of the two. She wrote, “What a funny, sexy, original he was,” adding, “But what I loved about him most was his heart. Even wheelchair bound he continued to be so sweet and generous with his fans. Thank you Tim for meaning so much to so many people. Love you, S.”

Curry was widely recognised for his iconic role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the mad scientist in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He was also known for other film roles, including the hotel employee in 1992’s Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, Pennywise The Clown in the 1990 miniseries IT, and Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island (1996).

Curry had used a wheelchair since suffering a stroke in 2012. News of his death was shared on Wednesday, August 26, though no cause of death has been released. Tributes have also come from the official Muppets Instagram account and the Broadway production of The Rocky Horror Show.
