The new Premier League season kicks off with BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton and Courteeners frontman Liam Fray offering their predictions for the opening weekend's fixtures. They are competing against AI, which topped the BBC predictions league last season.

Sutton, who claims he was close to winning last season, will continue to make predictions for all 380 Premier League games. His first guest is Liam Fray, who is a Manchester United fan and expressed excitement for the new season, particularly under manager Michael Carrick.

For the opening match on Friday, 21 August, Arsenal face Coventry. Sutton, Fray, and the AI all predict a 3-0 victory for Arsenal. On Saturday, 22 August, Hull host Manchester United. Sutton predicts a 1-2 win for United, while Fray, despite his optimism for United's season, had initially predicted a 2-0 win for his team.
