Fans of 'The Inbetweeners' can rejoice as Netflix has officially confirmed a third film, with production already underway. The announcement follows recent reports of a reboot, and all four original stars – Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison, and James Buckley – are set to reprise their roles as Will, Simon, Neil, and Jay.
Netflix made the official announcement via a teaser trailer. The clip features the four characters getting into Simon's distinctive yellow Fiat, which eventually starts, allowing them to drive off. A number "3" is visible in dirt on the back window, and Jay can be heard declaring, "Netflix wankers." The streamer captioned its social media post with: "Ooh, Netflix friends. THE INBETWEENERS 3. Now filming."
Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, the original show creators, are returning to write and direct the film. They stated, "It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans."
The original series aired from 2008 to 2010, followed by two films in 2011 and 2014. The first movie saw the group on holiday after finishing school, while the second followed their adventures in Australia.
