Two men and a teenage boy have been charged in relation to the alleged mistaken identity shooting of Sydney student Marco Tapia, police have confirmed. This includes the individual who allegedly held the gun.
Mr. Tapia, 23, was reportedly shot inside his family's home in Glen Alpine on 1 September. Police have alleged that the perpetrators targeted the wrong home and person.
The trio, aged 22, 23, and 16, were arrested in Junee yesterday and face charges including murder, two counts of special aggravated break and enter, and possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm. Detectives will allege in court that the three, one reportedly armed with a pistol, entered the home and confronted Mr. Tapia before he was fatally shot.
All three are scheduled to appear in court today, with the teenager appearing in children's court. Two other teenage boys have also been charged in connection with the incident and remain before the courts.
