Tom Holland has expressed his desire to continue portraying Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating he will remain in the role "for as long as they'll have me." His future in the franchise, he noted, depends on the success of the new film.
Holland, 30, has played the superhero for a decade, first appearing in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. He reprises the character for a sixth time in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is released in cinemas this week.
Speaking at the film's Los Angeles premiere, Holland highlighted the collaborative environment, saying, "There's a family here at Marvel and Sony." He added that working together "always feels like something magical happens."
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is reportedly proving popular with critics and audiences, with projections suggesting it could make at least $250 million on its first weekend. The Independent's Clarisse Loughrey praised the film as "the best Spider-Man movie in more than 20 years."
