Two prisoners have been charged with the attempted murder of fellow inmate Urfan Sharif, who was previously jailed for the murder of his daughter, Sara Sharif. The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that Steven Sansom, 47, and Adam Watson, 39, face these charges.
The charges also include other offences related to an incident that occurred in Belmarsh Prison on 1 January 2025. Both men are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court for their first hearing on 26 August.
Urfan Sharif, 43, and Sara's stepmother Beinash Batool were sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted at the Old Bailey for Sara's murder at their Woking, Surrey home.
