Two people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out at Hoo Zoo in Shropshire. The zoo, located near Telford, confirmed on Facebook that two of its owners went to hospital as a precaution due to smoke inhalation. They have since been discharged.
A spokesperson for the zoo stated that the fire is now out and no animals were harmed. The zoo will remain closed for the day, and those with tickets for Monday will be contacted to rearrange their visits.
Will Dorrell of the zoo told BBC Radio Shropshire that the fire was in an office area, and the cause is not yet known. He added that the only damage was to office equipment and documents.
