The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published updated versions of the SSP1 and SSP1W forms. These forms are used by employers to notify an employee when they are not entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) or when their SSP is ending.

The English (SSP1) and Welsh (SSP1W) versions of the 'Employer form: employee not entitled to Statutory Sick Pay' are now dated 10/26. The 2025/26 version of the SSP1 form has been removed.

An updated version of the SSP1 form has been added to reflect policy changes that came into effect from 6 April 2026. An explanation has also been added regarding when employers should use the 2025/26 version of the form.

What this means for you: If you are an employer, you should use the newly dated 10/26 SSP1 or SSP1W forms when an employee is not entitled to Statutory Sick Pay or their SSP is ending.
