The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has indicted 10 individuals in Minnesota on charges related to noncitizen voting. This marks the sixth such announcement this month by the DoJ.
Attorney General Todd Blanche and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that the 10 people in Minnesota were charged with making false claims about citizenship to vote, or voting as a noncitizen. The charges relate to the 2022 or 2024 general elections and 2026 primaries.
All 10 individuals charged are lawful permanent residents. At least three of the Minnesota defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Since early September, the DoJ has charged at least 24 individuals across 10 states with similar charges. In most of these cases, the individuals charged are lawful permanent residents.
