Vodafone has partnered with AI startup Aavalynx to co-develop a new legal technology tool. The collaboration will result in an AI-driven litigation platform designed to assist with managing and tracking legal disputes, as well as forecasting their financial costs.
Aavalynx, founded in 2023 by CEO Hanna Roos, stated that the joint venture will provide enterprise legal and business leaders with a real-time, unified view of their disputes portfolio. The company claims this will transform litigation from an unmanaged legal cost into a proactively managed financial risk asset.
The partnership follows Aavalynx's announcement on Tuesday of securing £1.5m in pre-seed funding for its legal tech platform. Roos noted that Vodafone contributed to shaping the platform, providing their vision for innovative product features tailored for in-house dispute teams.
The legal tech market currently sees Harvey and Legora as dominant players. Roos commented that while existing AI tools in the market largely improve lawyer efficiency, this is "not good enough," arguing that generic Large Language Models (LLMs) cannot address the unique complexities of dispute resolution.
