A 21-year-old woman has been arrested after three people were injured in a knife attack at an educational institution in Warsaw, police have reported. The incident on Saturday involved a "dangerous object" and resulted in a 17-year-old girl being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other women, aged 17 and 24, were also injured.
Police told local media that the suspected attacker was a student at the school and initial findings suggest she did not know the three victims. A Warsaw police spokesperson could not confirm if this latest incident is related to two previous attacks earlier in the week.
Schools in Poland had been increasing security following knife attacks on 7 and 8 October. One of these earlier attacks killed a 37-year-old female caretaker, and another injured nine people. Polish police had arrested 76 people after deploying to schools across the country.
