A woman has been charged with breaching an anonymity order concerning the victims of former DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson. Police stated that the 55-year-old was arrested in the Ballynahinch area on Tuesday by detectives investigating a breach of anonymity related to a recent high-profile court case.
She faces a charge of breaching a lifetime ban on reporting the identity of a victim or victims. The woman is scheduled to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates' Court on 24 August.
Donaldson, who served as an MP from 1997 until 2024, was convicted in June of 18 counts of sex abuse, including one count of rape, against two women when they were children. He is appealing his convictions.
