Working Men's Club have unveiled their new single, 'Devout', which they describe as marking a new chapter for the band. The track was produced by Grammy-winning composer Atticus Ross, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails.
'Devout' is the band's first release since signing with Domino and follows their previous albums, 'Working Men’s Club' from 2020 and 'Fear Fear' from 2022. Singer-songwriter Sydney Minsky Sargeant stated that 'Devout' felt like the right song for their return.
The new song features an intense, looming electronica sound with rapidly increasing instrumentation and Sargeant's synth-inspired vocals. While maintaining the urgency of their earlier material, 'Devout' introduces more vulnerable lyrics and abstract elements.
A companion visualiser directed by Innerstrings accompanies the single, with artwork designed by SJ Hockett. Working Men's Club are also set to perform live across the UK next month, including appearances at SWN Festival in Cardiff, Future Days in Birmingham, and Mutations in Brighton, before a show at Pitchfork in London in November.
