Gabrielle Carrington, a former X Factor finalist accused of murder, has been given a week to confirm her legal representation for her trial. The 29-year-old appeared at the Old Bailey and stated she would confirm her chosen legal firm by 17 August, noting it would be "crazy" to represent herself.

Carrington denies killing Klaudia Zakrzewska, 32, who died six days after allegedly being run over by a car outside the Inca nightclub in Soho on 19 April. She has also pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent against security guard Anoush Chyche, who reportedly sustained "life-changing injuries".

Carrington, who was part of the group Miss Dynamix in the 2013 X Factor live finals, is due to begin her trial on 5 January.
