British rapper Yung Filly, also known as Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is scheduled to face a rape retrial in Australia next June. This follows an earlier trial in July where a jury did not reach a verdict on three rape charges.
In July, the 31-year-old was acquitted of three counts of rape, one of assault, and one of strangulation. However, he was found guilty of two assault charges. No decision was reached on the three rape charges, which Barrientos has denied.
Perth's District Court set 15 June as the start date for the retrial, which is anticipated to last eight days. Barrientos was not required to appear in court and reportedly returned to the UK after being granted permission to leave Australia as part of his bail conditions.
Sentencing for the two assault charges, for which the jury found Barrientos guilty in July, will take place after the retrial concludes.
