The 100 Club in London is set to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its landmark 1976 punk gigs with two special shows. These events, featuring Sprints and Maruja, will take place on September 20 and 21, 2026.
In a nod to the original events, tickets for the upcoming shows will be priced at £1.50, mirroring the cost from 1976. The original gigs in 1976 included performances from bands such as Sex Pistols, The Clash, and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Irish band Sprints will headline the first night on September 20, while Maruja, described as a defining force in today's UK punk scene, will headline on September 21. Both bands have released acclaimed albums in recent years.
Jeff Horton, owner of The 100 Club, stated that the chosen line-up reflects what punk means in 2026, celebrating the genre's distinct values, style, music, fashion, and ethos.
