A 2025 YouGov survey in the US also placed "Mr Brightside" 15th among songs Americans knew all the words to, alongside tracks like "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "Happy Birthday."
Tait argues that a wedding playlist should cater to guests, allowing them to dance and sing along. She suggests that songs which encourage "impassioned hand gestures" are ideal for setting the dancefloor alight.
