Ariana Grande has launched the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, a charitable organisation aimed at supporting vulnerable communities. The foundation's mission is to 'support, protect, and provide resources for our vulnerable friends in need', with four separate funding streams focused on LGBTQ+ rights, mental healthcare, emergency relief, and reproductive justice.
Grande's move comes after she publicly condemned the White House for using her music in a social media post promoting US immigration arrests. The singer expressed her disapproval on Twitter, saying 'Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.'
The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation has already received support from various organisations, including Lambda Legal, Trans Lifeline, and Save the Children UK. Grande's charity foundation is a culmination of her philanthropic work over the years, which includes supporting LGBTQ+ rights and mental health initiatives.
Grande has long been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and mental healthcare, having launched the Protect & Defend Trans Youth Fund in 2022 to support trans youth amid anti-trans legislation. She has also partnered with Better Help to provide free therapy sessions for fans and signed an open letter calling on the US government to preserve federal funding for LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention services.
The foundation's announcement comes as Grande's music was used by the White House in a video promoting immigration enforcement, sparking controversy over the unauthorised use of her song. The singer's team is reportedly looking into having the music removed from the video.
