Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The DR Congo right-back is set to join Villa on an initial loan deal, which will become a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Wan-Bissaka, 28, has been granted permission to travel to the Midlands for a medical. The exact financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, though West Ham had previously sought a £25m fee from interested clubs.
The defender missed West Ham's first two Championship matches of the season while negotiations were ongoing. West Ham have had a busy transfer window, selling Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85m and Crysencio Summerville for £60m, though captain Jarrod Bowen has signed a new contract.
Aston Villa have also been active in the transfer market, notably selling Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for £117m. They have signed midfielders Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes, Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on a loan with an obligation to buy, and young centre-back Modou Keba Cisse. Villa are set to begin their Premier League season at Brighton on Sunday and will also compete in the Champions League.
