The European Athletics Championships in Birmingham recorded a total attendance of more than 218,000 over seven days, according to Birmingham City Council. This figure was announced following earlier criticism regarding empty seats at the Alexander Stadium.

Despite over 9,000 seats remaining unfilled on the opening evening of 10 August at the 23,000-capacity Alexander Stadium, the council confirmed that overall ticket sales "surpassed targets set by event organisers." The event also saw three consecutive sold-out evening sessions in its final days.

The total attendance of 218,135 averaged approximately 16,800 spectators across 13 sessions. Beyond the stadium, free events like race walking and marathons took place in the city centre, and a fan zone in Centenary Square also attracted thousands.
