Jeremy Klaperman has departed from his position as interim chief financial officer at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, after serving for less than a month. He was elevated to the role last month following a governance crisis that saw the company's entire board either resign or be dismissed.
Automattic confirmed Klaperman's departure, with communications director Megan Fox stating, "Automattic will always be grateful for Jeremy Klaperman’s leadership. We wish him the best of luck on his next endeavor."
Before his interim CFO role, Klaperman was the CFO for Automattic’s VIP Enterprise business unit. His departure reportedly followed a demotion back to his previous position, though the company spokesperson did not comment on the reason.
Klaperman had replaced former CFO Mark Davies, who briefly held the position after the board voted to place CEO Matt Mullenweg on leave in September. Mullenweg retook his CEO role within 33 hours, and a new board of directors was announced in late September.
