The BFI London Film Festival has announced the complete programme for its 70th anniversary edition, which is set to run from October 7-18, 2026. The festival, described as a highlight of the British cinema calendar, will showcase 251 titles, including short films, features, series, and immersive works from 88 countries.
Notable directors featured in this year's line-up include Danny Boyle with 'Ink', Taika Waititi adapting 'Klara And The Sun', and Jesse Eisenberg's 'The Debut', which will serve as the closing night gala. The opening night gala is 'Elsinore', a drama starring Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman.
Other highlights include Brad Bird's 'Ray Gunn', Laika's 'Wildwood', Tony Gilroy’s 'Behemoth!', and Martin McDonagh’s 'Wild Horse Nine'. Kristy Matheson, Artistic Director of BFI Festivals, stated that the programme reflects the "tumults of the era" alongside "cinematic thrills, moral conundrums and a reoccurring exploration of care and community."
