Siobhan Harper-Nunes, a Birmingham councillor, has denied five assault charges, including three counts of assaulting a police officer and two counts of assault by beating. The 66-year-old entered her pleas at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
The charges relate to an incident on 6 August when officers were called to the junction of Monument Road and Hagley Road in Edgbaston. District Judge Michelle Smith set the trial for 19 and 20 July 2027, which is expected to last a day and a half.
Ms Harper-Nunes, who was elected as a Green Party councillor for Ladywood in May, has been suspended from the party following the charges and is now listed as an independent councillor on the Birmingham City Council website. She was granted unconditional bail.
