The Blaze have completed a remarkable treble this season, winning the One-Day Cup in a thrilling final against Hampshire. Emma Jones was the hero, hitting a dramatic last-ball boundary to secure the victory and add to their T20 Blast and County Cup triumphs.
Chasing Hampshire's total of 252, The Blaze appeared to be cruising with half-centuries from Tammy Beaumont (74) and Georgia Elwiss (64). However, Hampshire's spinners, led by Amanda-Jade Wellington (3-36) and Bex Tyson (2-46), sparked a comeback, taking four wickets for 29 runs and leaving The Blaze needing 30 from the final three overs.
Jones, however, held her nerve, scoring an unbeaten 34 from 25 balls. With two runs required from the final delivery, she pulled Daisy Gibb's ball to the boundary, clinching the title and shattering Hampshire's hopes of silverware for a second successive year at the Utilita Bowl.
