Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy returned to practice on Monday for the first time since his wife was shot at their Virginia home last month. The shooting occurred on the evening of July 26.
The couple's 27-year-old son, Elijah Bieniemy, was arrested following the incident. He has been charged with malicious wounding, the use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling.
Elijah Bieniemy's court appearances have been delayed as he was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. Eric Bieniemy rejoined the team with the 2026 season scheduled to begin in just over a month.
