Chris Brain, a priest who established the Nine O'Clock Service within the Church of England, has been found guilty of raping a woman from his congregation. He was also convicted of four counts of indecent assault against three other women who were part of the Sheffield-based service during the 1980s and 1990s.
The 69-year-old was found guilty of these offences following a retrial at Inner London Crown Court. Brain, previously of Wilmslow, Greater Manchester, had already been found guilty of 17 indecent assaults against nine women at a trial held last year.
Brain is currently in custody and is awaiting sentencing at a later date.
